Owl Cushion Project

In an earlier post Starting to be creative I explained how I wanted to create an owl cushion based on ones I'd seen in shops in Sheffield. They didn't have one that suited my room so I'm making my own.

My bedroom

As my bedroom is black, pink and white I found the materials that best matched that colour scheme. I found an old black and white dress that I was going to chuck away and a pink pillow cover. I haven't got all the materials yet, I need pink thread, two wooden buttons for the eyes and stuffing.

First, I made a template of the body shape on grease proof paper, pinned the material to it and cut the dress to the appropriate size. Making it an inch bigger to accommodate the sewing.
Then I cut off part of the greaseproof paper to make the shape of the wing and did the same with the pink material.
I still need to make the eyes and the feathers which I will sew onto the body before I sew the body and stuff it.

Going shopping so I hope I'll find the rest of the stuff I need :D
