Great first impression :|

OK so my first proper shift at Topman was on Saturday. I was meant to post about it, but I forgot until now :p.

First thing to show I'm a brilliant worker: The lockers need a £ to be used and the only change I had was £2 coins and none of the girls that I asked had any change. Typical. I even used the vending machine to try and get a quid to use however it was shit and gave me rubbish change. Thanks vending machine you were a great help. :|
Second thing: Finding my way around the halls of Topman is like a maze. I only just started to figure out my way round by the end of my shift. I put my bag in the managers office as they said I could and turned the wrong way out of the door, I went through what I thought was the way. Nope. An alarm goes off. Great fun. :| I had to go back to get a manager to turn the alarm off.
I'm such a douche sometimes. First shift and I'm already begging for change and setting alarms off.

However, the rest of the shift went quite quick without any more glitches.
Except, people asking me what would look good on their child and what size they would be. :s I have no idea, you tell me. When I did give my opinion they went against it anyway. Pfft! how rude. It could just be showing how rubbish my dress sense is tbh so I can't really blame them for going against my opinion ha! :p

Also, I'm going to be well buff by the time I finish there. Customers ask for another size and if I can't find anyone to radio to the stockroom I have to go and look myself. It's ages away as Topman is the lower floor. Up about 3 lots of stairs and then look round the stockroom then run back down to the customer. This customer asked for one size, went and got it. He tried it on then asked for a different size so had to go back. Typical. Next time I'll bring both sizes down to make sure ha!

Next shift is Saturday again 5-9 then Sunday 9am-1. Ouch on the 9am :/ Oh well

I have a job! Goal achieved :)

In an earlier post, need to make the most of it, I mentioned a whole load of things that I was going to achieve this year. It included finishing my degree, getting volunteer work, getting a job and maybe joining a sports team.
Well there's still far to go before I finish my degree and I've already mentioned about my volunteer work with the guides. :) I have now accomplished another goal... Woop!... Getting a job! It's only a Christmas temp job but I'm still proud of myself anyway :) big boost in my self esteem :D

I got the call after I had just been stressing out about my dissertation so wasn't really fit to talk on the phone. The lady on the other end asked all these questions about why I'd want a job and when I was available etc etc. I was an actual mess I'm shocked that she still went ahead and asked if I was available for an interview. She asked me to bring an item, to the interview, that would best describe myself when I worked at the shop. :s She said it was for a bit of "fun" as it was a group interview.
After that call I was more a mess than before. Now I was stressing out about my dissertation AND a job interview. I have no interview clothes so had to rush about to try and find something nice to wear which wasn't too formal but not too casual either :s and I had to figure out what I was going to take to the interview as my item.

I found the clothes, with help :D and Mike told me it didn't really matter about the item as long as I was confident about what I had to say about it.
I was looking under my bed for some shoes to wear but I came across the shoes I wanted to wear and they were mouldy. Ewww! So had to buy new shoes as well. :/

I booked a taxi to go get to the train station on time. They said it would take about an hour to get there 'cos of rush hour traffic at that time in a morning. They arrived at 7.24am I got to the station at 7.30am. Thanks a bunch. Had to wait an hour for my train. :/

The group interview actually wasn't that bad. A few group activities to show our potential including a "Get to know me" speech by each of us, in which I said the reason I wanted to work there was because it might help with my fashion sense. A bit different to what the others were saying :p she remembered me after that though :p, a story board about Topshop, in which I was depicted as the main character in a Tesco bag finding Topshop and becoming fashionable :p and a quick conversation about my item, a pocket watch :D A friendly face, good at keeping to times, On time (inserted earlier story of being an hour early for my train :p) etc.
Was then called back for a more formal interview saying they would get back to me in about 7days and as I was travelling back to my family home they called me up saying I had a job!
Fastest process ever.

So I'm a proud worker of Topshop starting 9am on Saturday. Going to be a long day. However, discount is going to be good :D

I think the joining a sports team goal is going to have to wait. Will really be spreading myself thin if I do that as well. :s

I'll post a blog soon about my Halloween nights :)

It's gone so quick

So on Friday it was my boyfriends' and my 1 year. Well, I say that but, to be honest it's a very round about date. I have a tendency to just find myself in a relationship without any formal warning ha! Probably a bad thing but this time it's a good thing :D We've decided that we just pick a date around now that best suits our plans. Ha!

Anyway, Mike mentioned a while ago that he was going to cook me a three course meal sometime. I suggested that it would be a good idea for our first year together. He would pay for the evening meal that he cooked and I'd pay for the day's activities as neither of us have the money to spend on presents. This suited me fine :D

I've probably said this before but pictures speak louder than words so here's a few. :D

He bought me nice flowers in the morning. I didn't have a vase so had to improvise with an empty jam jar :p

Mike is lovely :). He cooked food that he's never done before which I love 'cos he was out of his comfort zone doing it. I also laughed at the come dine with me style menu with the "home made" Ben and Jerry's ice cream. The chicken was presented better, but as he poached it I thought it wasn't cooked enough so he put it in a frying pan just to make me happy :). Most of the food he cooked neither of us had tried before either so that was nice as well.
His housemates even went out for a while to give us the house. It was their idea which I thought was sweet.
Overall it was a very nice day. :)

I think I might keep him for a bit longer :D

What Do You Think Of When Someone Says The Seaside?

As it was very sunny and hot yesterday, a few friends and I decided to go to the beach :). Instead of telling you about it I thought I'd show you. These pictures show what comes to mind, to me, when someone says the seaside :D

Just a few images. I would have added another picture of my friend asleep in the car but I thought she wouldn't enjoy that. Lol.

What do you think of when someone says the seaside?

Favourite Films

So I'm having a lazy day and decided to watch one of my all time favourite films, Labyrinth. As I'm watching it I decided that I'd do a blog on some of my other favourite films. I love old films, not black and white but still old. This list includes old and new films :)

Labyrinth was made in 1986 so just before I was born. I love it because it looks old there's little fancy computer work done on it and what has been used looks fake but it's still a great film. I love all the different characters and the use of puppets as well. It stars David Bowie as the Goblin King and he's amazing in it even though he has a very packed crotch. :P The first copy I had of this film was on tape which was taped off the TV. I have it on DVD now so I can watch it whenever. :) I won't talk about why I love each one would take me a while so here's a few more films :)

These are just a few films I like. I'm a Marvel film lover, I love most of them. I'm also a Disney film lover but Hercules is my favourite Disney film. I think I like mythology which would include Hercules, 300, Clash Of The Titans and Prince of Persia. I find that the characters and the monsters included are fascinating, so when I watch one mythology film I have to watch the others as well.

Any other films I should have included that you think are better?

Girl Guides :D

As I said in an earlier post I need experience working with children. Well I got in contact with a woman in Sheffield that sorts things out volunteer work with Guides etc. She told me that there are a couple of units I could help with but one was more interested as they are low on staff.
Tonight is the night where I go meet the staff and have a chat about what's going to happen. :s I'm nervous but at the same time excited. The location is a 50min walk away which is a bit annoying especially at night when it's dark, so I'll have to figure out bus routes and/or taxi costs.
I'm quite impressed with myself for getting organised by myself normally I leave stuff like this for other people to sort out. Not any more. I need to grow up and start getting involved with my own life :D
I will post an update on how it goes :D

Given out one CV as well. Ha! The job front needs work.
I'm working on it :D

Nail Review

As I'm sat here drinking a glass of cider and black I was wondering what I could next blog about and it hit me. My nails :p

For my 21st my mum said that she would pay for me to have my nails done for my birthday night out. Not just a French manicure but Shellac on my finger nails and Minx on my toes. I was very excited about it. :D

The pictures are off my phone so aren't great. You can see the designs on them though so it's okay. You can even see a small flower on my ring finger nail. That's because the nail technician was nice enough to put it on for a 21st present. :)

The way they put the shellac on is a special UV nail polish that when put under UV light, sets and hardens. It's weird not having to be so fragile with them afterwards as they are hard. The process is quite messy though as the UV light sets the polish on skin as well. There's no damage done but it can be quite tricky to get it off the skin. They are quite hardy as well, my mum's lasted about 2 weeks and she only had to take it off because it started to grow out. Getting a French manicure style is probably the best for wear as it's harder to see when the nail grows so can be kept on until it starts to chip. Full colour may not look as good after a week or so.

Mine have lasted just over a week and are starting to peel and chip now. A couple of chips were seen after a day but I think that's me being too rough with them. Overall I'd get it done again. However, I'm a poor student and can't afford it :/

On my toes I had minx done. As I can't afford to get them done often I had a bright design instead of simple metallic or block colour. The minx sheets are like stickers that they measure to fit the nail and cut out and shape to the right size. Once on they are heated, most likely with a hair dryer, for them to set to the nail. The technician told me that minx on the smallest toe nail has a preference to move as it's closest to the sides of shoes etc so she glued it on with super glue. I enjoyed these as well as there were so many different patterns and styles you could have. These also last until they grow out. The minx on my big toes kind of ruffled up but I think that's because I went out in heels on the day I got them done. As they are bright and busy it's not noticeable though. I would recommend getting this done as well. They are great for holidays and for general life as well.

Both products are meant to get taken off by technicians however, the shellac can be taken off with acetone which is found in certain nail varnish removers. The minx would probably come off with heat, like a hair dryer as well :D

Overall very happy with my nails and if I wasn't so poor I'd get them done more often :D

Need to make the most of it :)

So tomorrow I'm returning to Sheffield for my third and final year of study. It's quite daunting as I have to write a dissertation and at the moment I can't even remember what topic I chose which is highly inconvenient. I think it's on Youth Crime, along those lines anyway :p.

Sat at my computer looking round my room which, to me, looks bare. However, it's not. At all. Anyone else that walks in here would think I'm still living in it. As everything I love has been packed it's not lacking the true sense of me now. Sounds corny I know but it's true. If you've been to uni and seen all your things packed up you'll understand.

I'm very excited to move back to Sheffield and start having a life again but this year will be much busier than last year. Not in the sense of lectures as they are few and far between but finally I've found a sense of direction which I need to kick myself into gear to achieve. I've decided that I want to become an A level lecturer teaching Psychology. I think I'd be perfect because for some reason all my psychology teachers have been mental, especially at A level. I think I could keep that image going :p For this I probably should have chosen a teaching degree. Hindsight is a bitch however and I didn't so now I'm going to try and get on a PGCE not this year as I've missed it. To get onto this course though I need experience working with children so I'm trying to get some volunteering work at the local Guide group. If I get to do that then I'll be spending as much time there as possible. Also I need to try and find a job to earn some cash :/ At the current time this is quite difficult however, I'm going to try. This year, hopefully, will be filled with a job, volunteer work and studying. I was also thinking about joining a sports team as well.

After all those goals I still want to make the most of my last year at uni so I'll still have to fit in going out as well. Phew! Just thinking about all the stuff I want to do is getting me out of breath ha! Loser I know.

A bit of a funny story as well to add to the seriousness. My mum has very nicely bought me some items to take back with me food, toiletries etc and she put a bottle of Archers in as well. I noticed that the bottle was only half full and that we had a full one in the house so I swapped them however, I felt really bad about it. I've never read it but I know the story by Edgar Alan Poe about the ticking heart under the floor boards and the guilt swelling up until he couldn't take it any more. It was like that and I had to swap them back. My mum saw and just laughed at me because she thought I was stupid. She also added that I could take the full bottle if I wanted to. Moral to the story: Maybe just ask, it's easier. Ha!

Feeling a bit sentimental about leaving home again. :(

Oh how silly things amuse me so

On television at the moment adverts seem to be almost 3 times longer than they used to be. This does bug the hell out of me but on the other hand I do have favourite adverts which amuse me a lot.

Compare the Market- This is my all time favourite advert at the moment. It's amazing. I don't have anything that I need to insure and even if there wasn't a cute toy being given away I'd still probably go to the website to purchase insurance. :) Genius.

Underdog- This is another brilliant advert just because of Joe Pasquale's voice as the dog. The opening line gets me "I've had a accident" It's probably only me that thinks it sounds like a small child has just wet themselves. :)

Skittles- I love skittles so most adverts including them, I enjoy. I love this one because of the end scene with the desk. Makes me chuckle.

M&Ms- The bit that makes me laugh is just after the guy says "Get in the bowl" and that single slice of bread hits him in the face. No idea why but I was in hysterics when I first saw it :)

A pointless blog but I think it's amazing how adverts are constructed to aim to get you to buy things. They have target audiences which play on the weaknesses of that target. I would never buy car insurance from go compare because I hate those adverts. I'd buy the products being sold in these adverts because the adverts are genius and clever. I love to laugh so these are perfect for me :D My friends and family think I'm an idiot for laughing so much at these adverts but so what. Laughter does you good :D

What adverts amuse you?

My 21st!

OK it's been a while since I last posted anything so I thought I would post a blog about my coming of age year. Woop! Traditionally at the age of 21 you get the key to the door. This tradition isn't really used any more, but the keys to signify coming of age are still used. Now they are used for a lot of ages like 16 and 18 as well.
To be perfectly honest once 12am came about on the clock I almost cried. I never wanted to be 18 never mind 21. As it goes however, I can't stop the ageing process. There's something about being 21 that makes you think that you need to grow up now. In current times however, this isn't the case. My mum told me that she was married at this age which to think about now is strange. I'm still a student and even after that I don't know if I'll be thinking about settling down.
Back to the actual reason for this blog. On the 22nd August I turned 21 :)
I had an amazing day where I went to York with my boyfriend and walked around a bit in the sun and had coffee and bought a £4 block of fudge. It was niceeee :D Then on the evening I went out for a meal with my family. I love them all and they make me laugh. It was quiet in the restaurant when we first turned up. Didn't stay quiet once we were there. The steaks they do are amazing and so nice I ate so much. My weight loss process has reverted back to what it was. Oh well. Start again tomorrow.
My mum had bought me balloons and a cake which were both lovely. I almost cried when the cake came out. I'm very emotional at these types of things. :)
When Mike turned up on the Saturday he had brought me a home made cake and some roses. Isn't he just lovely :).
So my birthday was amazing :D I have also planned a BBQ and a trip out round York with my friends to let them have some celebration time as well :p However, as English weather and pure bad luck go, it's raining :(. However, I won't let that get me down. If we can't go to York then so be it. I'm sure we'll have fun either way and we'll just have to go another time.

Here's a few pictures of my 21st :D

The cake that Mike made for me and the roses he bought :D That cake was lovely :D
The family except my mum :D can't see my grandad either. :/
 Balloooooons :D
The cake that I didn't know my mum had gotten for me. Little annoyed that they didn't bother to cover the straws with something but other than that it's amazing :D
A video of me trying to blow out the candles on the cake. They keep relighting. It got very frustrating after a while :p. Fun to watch though :D

After this week I seriously need to stop eating. I'm avoiding the scales at the minute as I'm scared at what I'll see. :p I'll update once I'm back on track. I did get to a 3 pound loss, I doubt it's that any more :P

Here's a couple of things that make me smile :D

 1. Winter when it snows and my brother goes outside to make snow angels. :D Taken from my window.

 2. My dogs. Alfie is not a normal dog. He likes to turn over his bed and get under it :D The top picture is him putting his head through his bed and fighting with Archie :p

 3. Faces made out of different things. Me and my old flat mate Clare had fun making faces :D
 4. Giving funny names to doddles and blu tac faces :D
 5. Pumpkin carving :D My boyfriend bought me one to carve. He even scooped out the middle for me. :D Mine is the happy one on the right :D
6. Utilising holey jeans. Those holes aren't a trend they are for drawing funny pictures in. It will only be seen when sat down. Otherwise it's hidden :D

Just a few pictures that I found on my phone. They remind me of funny moments and make me smile when I see them :D

Progress

So yea first week of my exercise/ food diary log book thing. :p went great... gym everyday, eating good food. I even cut down on sweeteners in my tea. In my mum's words "You're too old for sweetener now" My dad is 60 and still has them explain the logic in that and you can win a prize. Woop! Only joking. But really how can that be explained? :)

I was quite impressed at when I got on the scales it said I had lost 6 pounds. This is doubtful as water retention is a bitch. However, was still impressed :D
This week however, not a great week. :( Monday evening the boy and I went to Alton Towers for a couple of days as a present from him to me for my 21st. Yey! I am a giant kid and the smile simply wouldn't leave my face for the duration of the trip :D The room was immense as the whole Hotel was pirate themed. Avast! :p I was tempted to have rum but didn't as I don't like it. Go figure. :p

Breakfast was all you could eat and free which was good 'cos we were pretty much abused with the £19.95 dinner all you could eat buffet we booked for the evening. I totally got my moneys worth though. However, this was quite bad for the food diary. I justified it by saying it was for my birthday and I needed to get the most out of it :D Plus the food was amazing!! :D
I'm back home and now have no excuse not to eat better. :( Sad times. Weigh time again on Monday and I'm hoping it's not too bad :D.

On another note got the keys for my new house on Monday :D I basically ran round the house with a giant grin on my face. I want to move in now! My house mates are immense and the year is going to equally immense.
Funny story though. On receiving my keys I went to go have a look around walked down the road to what I thought was my house and tried both keys in the door (I was quite shocked before putting the keys in as the area didn't look familiar at all. I should have taken this as a clue tbh). Neither of them worked. I had walked to the same number house as my new one is, but on the wrong bloody street. I'm glad no one saw me, except Mike who now makes fun of me for it. I don't think he'll let me live it down :/ I'm off to paint it tomorrow and should be asleep 'cos we're going early. But, I wanted to update my blog :D

Back to the gym on Sunday. Woopie :|

Sunday 26 June 2011

It's been a while

OK so it's been a few months since I last posted due to a couple of reasons:
- Uni work and
- Forgotten password and
- Laziness to reset the password
:D

I haven't really done much lately. Went to Turkey with Mike which was really nice. Had a Turkish bath and went on a boat trip around the islands. Very relaxing and serene. I've been home a while now and it seems like an age since we were on holiday. :(

Now I'm back I have to find a job and start toning up.
The job hunt isn't going well so going to focus on toning up at the gym and with some diet changes. I am going to keep looking for a job as well, of course. :p

I've started today as I went to a friends BBQ and ate EVERYTHING. I love food. :).
So starting today I've been quite good. Monday I'll start to write a food diary which will include everything I've eaten, the exercises I've done that day, feelings behind bad choices and motivational quotes to help me keep going :D
I really hope it's going to work 'cos I want to tone up. The aim isn't to lose weight but if I do woopwoop. :D
I've been reading food and exercise tips on the internet to try and find some good ones that will help. Some of them sound pretty good so I'm going to try them out :D

Next week I'm going to Alton Towers, for a couple of days, with Mike for an early 21st birthday present. I hope it won't screw up my diary but I'll try my best to be good :D
I will give an update on my days there when I get back.

Wish me luck on my goal :D

New Addition :)

I love pets. Simple as. We've many pets over the years:
In total about 6 guinea pigs (that I can remember), I've had about 14 hamsters. Give or take a few. One of them was pregnant when we bought her giving me 8 little babies. Nawww. That's why the number is so large :p. My brothers have had hamsters as well so the total number is much higher than that anyway. :), 1 rabbit, that ultimately died on one of my brother's birthdays. Bad times :(, 1 budgie, 3 dogs (2 are in the house at present), loads of fish, stick insects, and Ben once had a snail :D
Funny story with one of Ben's fish. When he was younger he liked to take the fish out of the bowl and one morning when my mum came downstairs to feed the fish she noticed one of them had gone. Ben, the lovely pet lover, had put it in a tissue box to die. How cruel :p I always find it funny though. Poor little fish. :(

Today I bought, I say I did I really mean my mum did :p, a new little hamster. She's beaut and I want to play with her but she has to settle which sucks :/

I did mention in an earlier post that it was going to be a boy called Ted to match Lucy's future guinea pigs. However, this little girl got my attention more so I now need a new female name to call her. I was thinking Lily to fit in with the How I met your mother theme. It's cute and it can't be called Robyn 'cos that's a bird and this is a hamster :p

Mind my face :p These are the two present dogs we have at the moment. Archie on the left and Alfie on the right. They are little terrors but I love them.

Next on my list of pets that I want is either a toyger. Which is a cat with tiger markings. Looks ace! Or white chipmunks that I saw today 'cos they look mint running over the cage and doing back flips. :D

Daddy's Birthday Party :D

Been a while since I've posted so thought I'd do a bit of an update. Been quite busy lately with helping my mum with my dad's 60th and trying to get assignments finished for upcoming deadlines.

The party was amazing and couldn't have asked for a better night. Over 100 people turned up and a few people who I haven't seen in years. One couple came down from Scotland who we haven't seen in 8 years, a couple came over from Spain and other people from all over the place. Was so good to see them. About 3/4 families used to go camping with us to France and places. Kids everywhere and adults getting drunk it was an amazing time but over the years the kids grew up and the adults decided to move on with their lives. Ended up going in different directions. However, once we're all back together it's like we never parted and it was great. :)
I pretty much class the people that were at the party family and I love them all loads. During the night one lady who has known me since I was born fell over and I got quite emotional and had to be taken outside to calm down. She was OK but it was just worrying to see her on the floor. Other than that it was great. The band played some good songs. I made my dad get up with me for the first dance. :D I was a bit tipsy at the time but I was just getting the party going a bit as everyone was just sat down doing nothing. I certainly got the party going a bit better :D
As people where travelling from all over the place my mum let people stay in our house and Mike and I got booted to the caravan, which wasn't bad at all to be honest got us out of the mayhem. :D There were so many people around the house it was hard to be on your own. I loved every minute of it.
The weather was amazing all weekend as well. One of the best weekends I've had in a while. I was upset that it had to end so quickly and It made me miss all the big family holidays we used to have. I don't think my mum will ever want to organise another party that big ever again. Bless her. She did a great job. :)

Tuesday 5 April 2011

Why did I think this was a good idea :/

OK I've come home for a bit, to try and get some work done before my deadlines next week. However, I've come home at the worst time ever. My dad is 60 on Saturday and for his birthday my mum has been organising a huge party for him. Woo party! Woo free alcohol! It's not all sunshine and rainbows here though. I'm sure it'll be amazing on the night and will be good to see people who I haven't seen in many years. However, endless phone calls off said people is getting tiring. I haven't spoken to these people in such a long time that I don't really recognise their voices and spend half the duration of the call trying to figure out who it is. The first caller was only recognised 2 mins before the end of the call by mentioning a name that I remembered. I did pull it off pretty well that I didn't actually know it is was though. Go me! :) But now it's happening more and more. Also they decide to ask me questions about the party of which I have no idea of the answer.
Where am I sleeping?
What's the dress code?
Do you need bedding?
Are all questions for my mum, not me. My guess work is pretty good though and I seem to give the right answer when I ask my mum the same questions. Though I do tell the callers that they will have to call again to ask my mum to confirm. :p

Also my mum is getting pretty stressed out about it. I feel sorry for her and I am trying to help. I've even given up my bed for the night and Mike, Jon, Katie and I are sleeping in the caravan for the night :|
Woopie! Oh well. :p

My mum has a mattress in her room for the time being and today whilst trying to run for the phone I tripped over the plastic cover to it and almost headbutted the window. :/ :p I picked the phone up laughing to myself about it because it almost certainly would have looked hilarious to see by someone else. On the phone was my dad. I risked life and limb to tell him my mum had gone out. :| typical.

One further thing that I'm not going to look forward to is the meet and greet of old friends and the very repetitive phase of "I haven't seen you in years! Look at you!" that I know will be coming my way over and over again. I might make a handout to tell people that "I'm a 2nd year student at Sheffield Hallam studying criminology and psychology. Yes it is a good course but does have it's boring parts. I'm looking to be either a social worker or an A level psychology tutor." Just so I don't get bored of my own voice repeating these statements. Ha! It's going to be a great night though. Really looking forward to it :D My mum has told me I'm not allowed to get too drunk though 'cos she doesn't want me being sick in the caravan. :p Oh dear

Eye didn't realise they would be that annoying to do :p

After a rubbish trip home of missing my second train and having to walk home from the station with loads of heavy bags I decided to get straight to drinking and grabbed a cider :) It was gooood. The reason I was drinking was because it was one of my mate's 21st going out to York trip last night. It was really good.
Before I went out though I tried to put fake eyelashes on. I bought like 20pairs from Hong Kong and decided to do a test run of them. They are so annoying to put on. But finally did it after 20mins of messing about with them. They didn't look half bad either. I was impressed. :D but this morning woke up and my eyelids were glued shut. Bad times.
So we went out and had fun. Evil Eye is an expensive cocktail place but I liked the one I had :D I also got reminded about an incident that happened in Revs a couple of months ago. Just because there was a candle on the table in Evil Eye. I didn't know what I was thinking holding a tissue to a candle. What did I expect to happen really? Lol. Idiot.
I got told off by a bouncer for swearing at my friend. But he was only joking. It was Jasmin's fault ha!
On the way back to the car we went and got food and ate most of it the car before we set off. Sam and Hayley told me to chuck theirs in the bin as we drove past. I was going to keep mine as I wasn't finished. However, I decided to chuck mine away instead of Sam's I was quite upset about it ha!
Got home with Hayley and my brother was up and we stayed up for a bit watching stupid videos on youtube. Such as the badger song and the llama song. I was quite tipsy and was just singing along with them. I'm such a douche tbh ha.

This song made me laugh quite a bit. Especially because there was different versions of it. German was the funniest. :) Katie, my friend and my brother's gf, was laughing because she'd never seen them before and I was singing every word. Such a geek. :)

Went to go see my grandparents for grandma day and she gave me a box cheerios because my grandad had bought too many boxes. As we left my grandad said "cheerio" He's so funny. I love my family :D

Oh dear

Sometimes I do out stupid myself and make myself look like a prat.
Today is Mike's birthday, a few weeks ago I told him I wanted to go out and do more stuff so prefect day to do that :), so first we went to Costa and tried two very sweet lattes. They were very nice but very sweet we couldn't finish them. Before this we popped next door into Tesco to get some supplies and he said something to me, can't remember what lol, and I decided to say something along the lines of "Don't treat me like stupid", as soon as I said it I knew I said something wrong. How ironic to ask him to not treat me like I'm stupid and say the phrase wrong. Well done Jess :p
After that we went and watched "Sucker punch" I have no idea what the film is about even after watching it. Totally weird. Not worth the money I paid tbh. We were going to go have Spanish Tapas as stated in an earlier blog, however, it's location was too far away for my starving belly so we went to Jumbos. I do enjoy Chinese so it's all good. I love duck and pancakes. The pancakes were a bit hard so kept breaking up and I had to shove them in my mouth. I bet I looked so attractive and the way I eat orange slices just makes me look even better. Mike told me I looked like King Louis from Jungle book. Ha!

I got home and started to watch Gok Wan, I love him!, with Clare and she stated that Macclesfield was in the program at which I replied "Who's that?" Even though I knew it was where she lived back home. I am stupid sometimes. Oh well :D

The recent topic of animals has come up as well. For example me and one of my future house mates have been discussing pet names for our animals next year. I want a hamster and wanted to call it Sheldon after the Big Bang Theory tv show. Lucy however, wants two guinea pigs and keeps changing the names to suit her tv show preference. For example Leslie and Penny from Big Bang, Lily and Robyn from How I Met Your Mother, Charlie and Hurley from Lost and Ham and something from Toy Story. I want to keep to the same theme so have multiple names to choose from depending on her preference that day. Sheldon, Ted, Sawyer, Zorg/ Buzz. It's such an effort changing them every time.
Also lately I have been stating what animal I would be. If I was a fish I'd be a Lion fish or a seahorse, If I was a bird I'd be a flamingo. Mike thinks I'm so immature :) He said he'd be a unicorn. They are cool however, they might be weaponised horses but they still are a little lame :p

Help on names for my hamster? I'm thinking Sheldon or Ted tbh :D

Good things...

...come in small packages.
I have decided that this statement is to only try and cheer up the small people of the world.

I realised a while ago that I'm short.
Today was no exception to pointing that fact out to me. I went to help my flatmate Clare out with some of her photography work. I'm on the list of people she knows will help her and model for her and I like helping her out. Makes me feel good :D. Today she was taking photos of my eyes and me being the short person that I am had to kneel on a chair to get high enough for her camera on the tripod. :| It's like... it's a nice sunny day but oh wait...you forgot... you're short! Ha ha! :| Clare had to wheel me about on the chair to get me into the right position for her camera. It was funny having to be moved on a computer chair but also annoying that I had to kneel on it to be tall enough. Being shorts sometimes sucks.
Clare also has to help me close the blind in my room sometimes. I have a sky light and when I open the blind too far up I can't reach it again to pull it back down. I have resulted to using a coaster to help me with this problem :D
Another instance of when being short is rubbish. Rides at theme parks. When I was younger I couldn't go on some of them because I was too short. This was also the case for one of my brothers and to get around this problem my parents put rolled up socks in his shoes to make him tall enough. I think there's probably a height restriction for a reason and doing that was probably tempting fate a bit. However, he's still alive now so I'm guessing it was fine :D
There's been occasions where I've bought 3/4 length trousers and worn them as full length trousers because my legs are too short. Ha ha! Laugh it up. :p And I was never allowed the enjoyment of jeans with a design at the bottom of the legs because my mum would either cut it all off or tuck it up to make them short enough for me. Yey! :|
Since I was 15 I've always gone for guys who are tall. 6feet and up pretty much, which was always funny when my family met them. I looked like one of the 7 dwarves stood with my family :p My current boyfriend is 6foot3 or 4 I'm unsure. When my brother first met him he said "Couldn't you find anyone taller?" He's a foot taller than me which amuses him sometimes because I have to stand on my tiptoes to kiss him. If he looks straight ahead I can't even reach his chin on my tiptoes. If he doesn't want a kiss he just does that and I'm resulted to jumping up which can cause trouble as I do head butt his chin sometimes. All in the name of love right? :p
So yeah being short may be cute but it's a pain in the ass most times. Rant over. :)

However, I do have a slight obsession with shoes. I use my shortness as justification for buying very nice but very tall high heels. :) In Sheffield with me now, I have about 29pairs of shoes. All various types not just high heels. I found some amazing heels in Schuh a couple of weeks ago but being poor and only just buying a pair I didn't get them. I did however, state to the shop assistant that I would be getting my loan through soon and asked whether or not they would still in store when they do come in. They will be :D
Look how beautiful they are :D. I will have them one day.

Being short does have it's advantages sometimes though. I look young as well so I used to be able to get children prices for things. :D Ka-ching! :)

Minority

I have never felt so out of place in my own country before. :s
Today, well technically it was yesterday but as I haven't been to sleep yet I still class it as today :), my boyfriend and I went to try out a noodle bar in Sheffield called Yummy's, or something like that anyway.
At first glance it doesn't look anything special but it is actually really nice. This isn't meant to be a review blog but it's turning into one :) oh well.
You get good portion sizes and the price isn't that bad for eating out.
However, when we went in it was filled with oriental people. It was strange and a bit unnerving at first. My boyfriend isn't a very dignified eater, the human shovel is probably the best term to use :P, and he had noodle soup, not the best to eat in a socially acceptable way. Trying to eat a meal surrounded by people who know how to use the utensils correctly got me a bit worried. Ha. I stuck to using a fork so not to make a prat out of myself.
I don't know but they could have had a special way to eat stir fry and I could have offended them in some way. I probably didn't but you never know :p
My boyfriend was a bit wary of how he was eating as well, he suddenly got a little more dignified :p
However, the whole experience was enjoyable and I would go back there again.
Friday is Spanish Tapas night for Mike's birthday. I love tapas and the place we're going to is so nice. I feel all multi-national eating so many different cuisines. Having Italian tomorrow :D

The start of something brilliant...

... or probably not to be honest.

Every time I sit down to start writing a diary or something I get bored or realise that my life is quite boring and end up just using the book to doodle random things, normally snails or 3D boxes, or write lists.
Funny things do happen in my life which, to me, are quite funny but other people may not find them that way.
Oh well :D This isn't to tell everyone about my life, it's to write down things that amuse me. Which is a lot I must say. I would try and write a diary but I might as well use a blog as everybody is doing it nowadays and using a pen and paper is overrated. :D

I'll use this to comment on funny things during my day or to show things that I find amusing. :D

Much love
:D
